Yeah good old DOS times! Wasn't it funny to do some Bootmenues with edlin?
Re-arrange the autoexec.bat to get 20kb more RAM
Yeah good old times!
Hope you have the right update files for your Motherboard BIOS and Graphics.
Which OS you use? XP? Vista?
If you do an bootable USB stick or CD ROM just boot to the DOS...
looks like
C:\>_
If you are already on your USB-Stick just write "dir" and it show you the files and folder wich are on it.
If you see a file for example updatebios.bat or updatebios.exe
just write down "updatebios" it must be a *.bat or an *.exe file.
Do you have got MSN or ICQ?
Helpfull commands:
cd (change directory) for example ther is an folder named update then you can switch there "cd update"
cd.. brings you back
But if you have an mesenger it would be easyer or just write in here!
Hope this can help you!
You finaly got problems with your firewall? You ever tryed to uninstall completely??? And reinstall the game after that? The newer Firewalls do some changes in the system that could cause many trouble....

Hi DG,
sound like u dont have floppy drive anymore.....
1st:
Dont know wich MB u have, when its not pretty it could be posible it have their own flash program build in.
U only need then to put the file on USB stick or any other FAT formatet media.
2nd.
Download HP USB Storage Disk Tool and install.
Download WINXP Dos Files and extract the files to anyfolder u want.
Plugin your usb key.
Start the HP Tool
Locate the usb key under "Device"
Click the checkbox "Create a DOS Startup Disk"
and the 2nd checkbox "using DoS Systemfiles from location.
Click on ... Button and browse to the directory where u copied the files from the WINXP_DOS.ZIP archive.
Click Start
Copy your bios file and update tool on the usb key.
All files including the flash tool, the update file and the dos files must be in the root directory of the usb key.
reboot and flash your bios (the execute command info could u read in the readme.txt of the bios update archive.)
When that dosent work, write me a PM or Mail.
edit: there is also a 3rd way to make your usb key avaible for dos boot. but its a bit more work. shout if u want to read it _________________

floppy drive LOL, can send you an 5.25" or 3.5" drive if you want also disks!
I used a bootable CD ROM to set up my SATA Hard Disks RAID 0
Created under Nero + the files needed... was very easy.
Hope it works DG! Otherwise sell it at eBay _________________

DONT DO ANYTHNG YET...It seems that you dont know the different of bios and graphic card driver. To update graphic driver is not so difficult. First get the latest driver for your card....then in..START...You have Controllpanel...Add/Remove program...uninstall all Ati, but careful..ONLY ATI STUFF. Then restart computer and doubleclick the new driver you downloaded....Then this with bios..WATCH OUT..DANGER. I think that you have a motherboard bios cd from when you buyed the computer. Insert that cd and read what programs there is...if you are lucky there can be a little program that you can install to the pc that let you update the bios from the start meny.......But bios DANGER....Start with updating the graphic card driver as i expained. That you must learn anyhow, because new games need updated graphic driver _________________

i am not talking about a driver .... i am talking about the bios from my graphiccard !!! i have the new bios update from sapphire webside. when i start the computer and i press End i come to a window where i can update the motherboard bios from a drive. Ok i have a bootable USB Stick with the updates i need but the important thing is how to update the graficcard bios now !!!!!!!! i can only update the b. from the motherboard there. The guys from Sapphire Support said that i should take a USB stick for updating the gc. bios... but not more |

OK.
Looks like u get over the first sticking point.
You can update the Bios now with the this build in feature (END Key at Bootup)
For the second sticking point write pls the download link to the GPU bios.
I will download it and take a look.
Think the GPU update is also DoS based. _________________
